Our Real Detroit Wedding: April 6, 2019
We LOVED Mike Staff and will recommend this company to everyone! The wedding videographers were so kind and professional, and very easy to work with. The production team finished our videos in lightning speed- we barely got back from our honeymoon and they were done! – Happy Bride, Rachel
Our Love Story
We met online (very millennial) and had our first date in January 2018 at a speakeasy in Jacksonville, FL called the Grape and Grain Exchange while I was on a rotation at a hospital there (I am graduating from medical school in less than 1 month). Within the first few weeks, we knew this was something different, and we fell more in love as time went on. On October, 22nd 2018, Jon planned a nice dinner to celebrate my birthday and return home from a month-long rotation in the Dominican Republic. Afterward, we went for a walk on the beach in the moonlight. He told me to close my eyes, and when I opened them he was kneeling with a ring. He said he had two presents he wanted to give me- his heart, and a diamond ring. He’s very romantic 🙂
Our Wedding Video
We absolutely knew we wanted a wedding video because it can capture all that cannot be expressed with words. We wanted to watch our video and relive the joy and love of our wedding day. My sister had her video done by Mike Staff Productions four years ago, and she watches it with her husband every year on their anniversary. I can’t wait to do the same with my husband!
Mike Staff Productions did an absolutely fantastic job capturing not just the events, but the emotions and magic of the day. Watching it makes me feel like I am right back there! Friends and family who couldn’t come to the wedding saw the video and cried because of how beautifully it was done and how our love just poured out of it. I can’t even describe how many compliments we have gotten on our highlight video!
Our Wedding Vision
I wanted to have an elegant, black tie optional wedding with soft colors. I wanted everything to be classic and romantic. We got married at St. Kateri Catholic Church in Dearborn, which was a beautiful, intimate church, and had our reception at Lovett Hall at the Henry Ford. Everything about the reception venue was exactly what I hoped for. The timeless ballroom with gold chandeliers, wood floors, and beautiful molding and drapes made for a perfect setting.
Our Favorite Wedding Memories
One of my favorite moments was driving in style around Greenfield Village in a Model T, with our bridal party in a horse-drawn carriage behind us with the champagne! It was such a fun, relaxing way to take photos throughout the Village before the reception, and I wouldn’t have done it any other way!
