Our Real Wedding: June 22, 2019
“Working with Mike Staff was excellent! We trusted Pat to keep the event running smoothly and he did just that. He even continuously made sure we had what we needed. He was so much more than a DJ! Will also did a great job with videography as we were so happy with our videos. We would definitely recommend Mike Staff to any friends or family!”
Happy Bride, Sarah
Our Love Story
Kyle and I are middle school sweethearts! Kyle was my first serious boyfriend and I was his first serious girlfriend. We dated for about a year and a half and then went our separate ways through high school and college. After a lot of necessary growing up, we found our way back to each other ten years later. We had been together again for about three years when we took a vacation to visit Kyle’s sister and brother-in-law in Virginia. We spent one day hiking up a gorgeous waterfall with his sister in the George Washington and Jefferson National Forests. Once we reached the top, we had a gorgeous view of the Appalachian Mountains and, to my surprise, Kyle was down on one knee. It was more perfect than anything I could have imagined!
Our Wedding Vision
We’re very laid back people so we knew we didn’t want something over the top. We wanted something a little rustic, but romantic. I’m a big crafter too so I was very much into DIYing as much as I could. I made all of the signage and Kyle’s Mom actually put together all of our center pieces. She hand made all of our Save the Dates, Invitations/RSVP’s, and Thank You cards as well! I think we all pulled it off!
Our Wedding Video
I’m a sucker for memories. I love taking photos and videos of absolutely nothing just so I can look back and smile. It was important to have a video so we are able to look back every few years and remember how we felt on that day. To see the joy on everyone’s faces that attended. The video captures the whole vibe and feeling of the day and I think we both would have been bummed if we hadn’t gotten a wedding videographer. The first look, the speeches, my Grandpa marrying us, everyone enjoying themselves! I would recommend it to everyone!
Our Wedding DJ
Right off the bat Pat started with “Shout!”, which of course is a fan favorite, and everyone was on the dance floor immediately. We would request Pat a million times over. He took a lot of the stress off of our shoulders and made sure everything ran smoothly. He even took our drink order a few times! What wedding DJ makes it a point to do that?! He sincerely made sure we enjoyed our day the way we should have.
Our Wedding Memories
My number one favorite moment was my Grandfather marrying us. He married my parents so it meant the world that he agreed to marry us as well.
I also had an idea that a lot of people hadn’t seen at a wedding before. Instead of having empty chairs at the ceremony for those that are cherished in our memories I decided to make an “In Memory” table at our reception. Each person that has passed had a seat with their photo on the table so they could be there.
Kyle’s Dad actually went to the bar and got his Dad a beer to leave at his table setting so he could “have a beer with his Dad again”. That was extremely special.
Additionally, we surprised Kyle’s sister and brother-in-law with their own first dance, because they didn’t have a big wedding that allowed them to do that. The day wasn’t just about us and we wanted people to know that it was about all of them as well! Oops.. that was three. Too many favorite moments!!
