Our Real Wedding: June 29, 2019
“I have already recommended Mike Staff. Dustin was kind and never “in the way.” He was fun to joke with and great to work with. I like that even though it’s such a large company, [Mike Staff] keeps in touch and has the time to connect with us via phone or email when we need to.” – Happy Bride, Chelsea
Our Love Story
Derek and I met at U of M, when I enrolled in the wrong class. I planned on dropping the class, because I didn’t need it. Then that first day, we were partnered up to “Interview a Stranger.” Needless to say, I stayed in the class! Derek proposed with the help of my sister. He took me to the park where we had our first date, got down on one knee, and my sister photographed the whole thing. It was a total surprise!
Our Wedding Vision
We chose to get married at The Colony Club Detroit, because of how beautiful the venue was. Our theme was 1940’s glamour, with modern elements and accents. We wanted people to take in the space as much as possible, so we kept it simple with decorations. It was important to us that the wedding looked timeless.
Our Wedding Video
I knew that the day would go by fast. I knew that I’d be anxious and have adrenaline pumping and that I would miss details and memories. I wanted to see my best friends and closest family there, the bridal party walk down the aisle, and the events that we weren’t present for. I knew that it would be the happiest day of my life, and I wanted to be able to re-live it over and over again.
Our Wedding Memories
Chelsea’s Favorite Moments: Having my grandmother fluff my dress and veil, walking down the aisle to the love of my life, our grand entrance (and the metal song we chose), and dancing the night away!
Derek’s Favorite Moments: Seeing Chelsea walk down the aisle, being surrounded by family and friends, and our grand entrance.
