Our Real Detroit Wedding: August 17, 2019
“I would definitely recommend Mike Staff to anyone who’s looking for quality and professional DJ, photography, and videography services. It was so nice that we were able to get all of these services in one place. Everyone worked so well together and made sure that Matt and I were happy with everything they did. You can tell they really love what they do.”

Our Love Story
Matt and I originally met in Canada in February 2014. My friend and I turned 19 and went there for our birthdays. One of our mutual friends brought Matt and some other people she worked with.
In July 2017, Matt proposed to me in front of the Detroit River where you can see Canada on the other side. He actually proposed with the hotel we had stayed at with our friends the night we met in the background. I don’t think I stopped crying for at least 4 hours!!
Our Wedding Vision
We wanted something elegant, but not too over the top. I’ve wanted to have a Cinderella-themed wedding since I was little, but wanted it to not feel too “childish,” so we just did a lot of little accent pieces – glitter pumpkins with flowers as centerpieces, a Cinderella/Prince Charming cake topper, etc.
Our Wedding Video
We were originally on the fence about getting one, but when we first met with someone at Mike Staff, he mentioned that he decided to get one and was so happy that he did because his dad later passed away and the video is one of the last things he can hear his dad’s voice on. I also cried at everyone else’s videos, so I knew having a professional wedding film would be special to me.
I love that we get to watch our wedding whenever we want. Weddings are such a blur when you’re the bride and groom, so it’s been nice to be able to relive it when we aren’t running around worrying about different things.
Our Wedding DJ
He played a lot of different genres, so I think there was always someone on the dance floor. It was great because we had a large age range at our wedding so there was something played for every age group. Our wedding DJ (James) also sang and played guitar during our cocktail hour which was SO COOL!! He also talked with Matt and I before everything to make sure he had everything the way we wanted. I was so happy with our DJ choice.
Our first song was a cover of Everything by Michael Buble. About a year or so after we met, Matt had mentioned that he wanted that song to be played at our wedding. The original version was a little too fast to slow dance to, so we found a cover that was absolutely gorgeous. I also think it describes how we feel about each other perfectly.
Our Wedding Photos
Our wedding photographers, Madison and Mary, were phenomenal. They were open to any ideas we had, which led to us getting some awesome shots. Our wedding pictures were really important to us because we can look back at them now and instantly remember how happy we were that day.
