Melissa & Justin’s Real Detroit Wedding: October 12, 2019
“We absolutely LOVED having our team from Mike Staff be part of our day. They were fantastic and super easy to work with, and absolutely helped our day run as smoothly as possible. They were flexible when things did not run as originally planned, and also helped make sure that we paid attention to all of the important details and events. Each and every member of the team went above and beyond to make sure everything was perfect and all of our questions were answered. We could not have asked for a better team or a better day. “
– Happy Bride, Melissa
Our Love Story
After having been together for about 6 years, and having three kids together, Justin proposed on Christmas of 2018. Our story was out of traditional order, but it allowed us to experience a lot of life’s ups and downs, and grow into the couple and family that we are today.
Our Wedding Vision
The vision we had for the wedding was something classic, romantic, and beautiful, and also be comfortable enough to have a great party and celebration with our family and friends.
Our Wedding DJ
Our amazing wedding DJ, Joe, had our guests on the dance floor all night long, which was a great time! Our guests all loved the line-dancing type songs and Cupid Shuffle-type songs. Also, who can go wrong with a little “Don’t Stop Believing,” by Journey, “You Shook Me All Night Long,” by AC/DC, and “Pour Some Sugar on Me,” by Def Leppard?? So many good songs were played that night it’s hard to list them all!!
Our Wedding Photography
Mary was AMAZING. Not only did she work with us to get some seriously amazing pictures of the day and engagement session, but she was so wonderful with our kids. Talking with her about ideas visions and recommendations for both the engagement session and wedding day was so easy and comfortable, and it was like talking to a friend. Going into all of the planning, I knew that professional, quality wedding photography would be the one thing that we needed to make sure to splurge on, to make sure that we had all of the memories that we wanted from our day. We are so happy with our photos and cannot wait to get them displayed in our home. Mary and Britney were able to capture moments from the day that we didn’t even realize had happened and were just so special, precious, and memorable.
Our Wedding Videography
When we began the wedding planning process, we were not planning to get a wedding video because we were trying to be conservative with our budget. When we met with Kurt to discuss DJ services, we asked to view the videography clips and found ourselves tearing up over a wedding and a couple that we did not even know. At that point, we knew that we would regret not getting a video to be able to remember and relive that. We knew the day would fly by (and it sure did) and we also had 3 small children that would be an important part of the day. After going through the ceremony and hearing our reception speeches, I am so happy that we have all of that on video. We do not regret splurging on the cinematic wedding video in our budget, at all.
Our Wedding Memories
Our absolute favorite moment of the day, was the first look. That was the moment that all of the anxiety and nerves of the day went away (with quite a few tears) and we were able to have a few moments with just the two of us. Other favorites of the day were when we were pronounced husband & wife, and spending time with all of our friends and family at the reception.
