Our Love Story
Mike proposed at The Grotto at Orchard Lake St. Mary’s where he went to high school. He had me thinking we were going there to light a candle and say a prayer for his grandpa and that we were meeting his mom there. There were two photographers there who told us they were there to prepare for a wedding they were shooting. They asked if we wouldn’t mind posing for a couple pictures to make sure they had the best angles and lighting. Turns out Mike hired them and when they were about to take the first picture he distracted me and when I turned back around he was down on one knee!
We met on the dating app Hinge and went on our first date at The Garage in Northville.
Our Wedding Vision
We had envisioned a winter/holiday themed wedding as our wedding date was right before Christmas. We originally were planning to have around 300 people. We started planning right after we got engaged.
Our plans changed multiple times over the year of planning. Ultimately we were able to have our wedding ceremony, although only 75 people were able to attend. We were not able to have our reception, but were able to have a dinner with our immediate family and wedding party.
Our Wedding Moments
A favorite moment was when we saw each other for the first time when I was walking down the aisle at our wedding ceremony. We wrote letters to each other that we read before our wedding ceremony which was really special.
Our Wedding Photography
We had a great experience working with our professional wedding photographer, Mark. We love our wedding photos. The photos and our video will be the memories we have for years to come of our wedding day.
We have been sharing our wedding photos with our guests who were not able to attend via email and social media.
Our Wedding Videography
Hiring a professional wedding videographer was important because we wanted to be able to watch the wedding video in the years to come on our anniversary or just whenever we want to. I am sure as time goes on the memories of the day fade, so we wanted the video to be able to more vividly remember our wedding day.
We were able to livestream our wedding as well, which so many of our guests who were not able to attend our ceremony watched. We received so many compliments on how great it was to be able to watch our wedding ceremony live. It made everyone feel included. Daniel who ran our livestream was fabulous!
