Michelle and Nicholas’ Wedding at The Inn at St. John’s

Our Wedding: December 18, 2021

I would highly recommend Mike Staff Experience. Mike Staff did our photography, videography and DJ. Our DJ was James and he was amazing. The dance floor was going all night! With oldies and new music my guests said they had soooo much fun at the wedding. He also was great at checking in the entire evening to make sure I was doing ok, if I liked the music and even if I needed a drink. James was amazing and I would pick him again and Mike Staff again in a heart beat! Holly was our main photographer with Nathan as her second. They were an amazing team always communicating to make sure that the bride and groom never ran into each other. Holly was a blast to work with. She was so knowledgeable, and made the day fun and stress free!  Daniel was our videographer. He was also amazing and professional and made sure to capture all of the moments that were important to us. Holly and Daniel made the best team. I would recommend this team to everyone. Having a team who had also worked together, knew the venue and were so fun made my wedding day so stress free and amazing. Thank you!

Our Love Story

Nick and Michelle met during their first few weeks of medical school at Central Michigan University College of Medicine. As the stress of medical school enveloped their lives, Nick and Michelle became, at first, best friends. Officially meeting and talking over a glass of Soft Parade and later taking a casual drive through McDonald’s drive though for a good ol double cheese burger (or McDouble if your Nick Scott -cause who would ever pay extra for an extra slice of cheese.) That same night, during that drive, Michelle had mentioned she just wanted to drive to Mackinac and go to Mackinac Island, one of her favorite places to get away (foreshadowing lol). They studied together, ate their way through the best Mount Pleasant restaurants and went to the usual post exam celebrations at The Bird or dare we say it… The Wayside. Third year of medical school was when clinical rotations started and Nick and Michelle both ended up in the thumb of Michigan for their family medicine 6 month rotation. It was there these two fell in love. Between visiting the small town of Caro and visiting Michelle’s hometown Lapeer, they couldn’t help but notice they were more than just best friends. Fast forward to fourth year of medical school, they were both living in Saginaw Michigan and applying to residency. Match Day 2018 was one to remember. Nick matched Emergency Medicine in Cleveland, Ohio and Michelle matched OB/GYN in Detroit, Michigan. Both were very excited but knew their relationship would have to face the challenge of long distance. Three years later and their relationship is stronger than ever! Nick is now an attending ER physician in Toledo, OH and Michelle is finishing up her last year of OBGYN residency in Detroit. They are excited to see where life takes them next <3

The Engagement:
Nick had planned a trip to one of Michelle’s favorite destinations – Mackinac Island. While staying at the Grand Hotel, pictures were taken on their famous porch before dinner. After the last picture was taken, Nick asked Michelle to marry him and of course she said YES! They spent the next few days on the island celebrating their engagement, riding bikes around the island, eating fudge and drinking the islands famous Rum Runners!

Our Wedding Vision

Our vision was an elegant, classic, winter wedding with greenery, golds, shades of burgundy and white.

Our Wedding Photography

We loved our wedding photographer (Holly). She was amazing not only at making sure we had all of the shots we wanted but also making sure the day run so smooth. Our wedding photos were, after the ceremony, our most important part of the wedding. We knew that the day would fly by and we wanted our pictures to look back on and remind us of the amazing wedding we had. We love our photos!

Our Wedding Videography

Similar to our photos, we knew we wanted to have a video of our wedding that we could have forever! We plan on watching our wedding video on every anniversary to see our special day and the family that celebrated with us that may not be with us in the future. We love our video!

With the COVID-19 pandemic we of course had guests that could not attend. Having these amazing photos and videos helped us share those special moments with those who could not attend.

Our Wedding Memories

1. Walking down the aisle and seeing each other for the fist time!
2. Having a moment just the two of us to see the reception area before all of our guests came in
