Our Love Story
Cody and I met on a cold December night at Fifth Ave in Royal Oak. We hit things off over the holidays, and when Cody came back from visiting his family in PA, we continued to spend a lot of time together. The engagement came at Ralph’s Majestic View on the Allegheny Front Trail in PA, close to Cody’s childhood home. It was a walk we will never forget!
Our Wedding Vision & Favorite Moments
I think I speak for a lot of people when I say that the pandemic changed our wedding planning. Our overarching vision was a big celebration of our love for each other with all of our friends and family. We ended up choosing The Colony Club in Downtown Detroit as our venue and it was the perfect setting.
Our favorite wedding day moment was our recessional. Cody can never stop quoting “The Office”, so it was only fitting that walked for the first time as husband and wife to the theme song. Cody even gifted the groomsmen The Office themed socks!
Detroit Wedding Photography Experience
I kept telling Cody if I could tip Holly (our wedding photographer) my entire paycheck, I would! Holly truly went above and beyond and we had an absolutely crazy morning that didn’t go as planned. Holly was very supportive with everything, going with the flow, and helping us with dress malfunctions and transportation issues. She was truly the best!
Detroit Wedding DJ Experience
Our wedding DJ quite honestly blew us away with how much fun he had at the reception. He had quirky little comments that kept people engaged throughout the toasts, and played awesome music that kept nearly everyone on the dance floor. We couldn’t have asked for more!
We weren’t tied to a specific first dance song. We both love country music, and Cody had heard Thomas Rhett’s “Us Someday” and became emotional about our future with (God willing) lots of children!
Detroit Wedding Videography Experience
I really wanted something beyond just photos to have one day. Our wedding video is truly beautiful and I cry every time I watch it. I’m so glad we added on a wedding videographer and recommend to everyone to do it. It is also so special to have our ceremony and vows to watch and listen to for years to come!
