Oakland County Marriage License Information
Applications are available through the Oakland County Clerk’s Office. Traditionally, you would need to apply in person. Due to the pandemic, you and your future spouse can apply online or via mail. The mail-in option can be used 20 to 33 days before your wedding date.
Wayne County Marriage License Information
Residents must apply for their marriage license in person at the Wayne County Clerk’s Office between three days and 33 days before their wedding.
Macomb County Marriage License Information
Marriage license applications are typically available through the Macomb County Clerk’s Office. Due to the pandemic, couples can submit their application online. Follow the steps of their online filing tool, and you will receive three copies of your marriage license via mail. Note: Processing time may vary from two to three weeks, so allow time for this.
What does a Michigan marriage license cost?
If you or your partner are a Michigan resident, the application will cost $20, but if both of you are out-of-staters, it will cost $30.
How long does it take to get a marriage license in Michigan?
In Michigan, there is a three-day waiting period from the date of application to the ceremony, unless the clerk waives the waiting period due to sufficient cause. The marriage license is valid for 33 days and is only valid in Michigan.
